  • 1 ¼ cups apple cider, or apple juice
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup apple cider (for topping)
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 2 teaspoons apple pie spice (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, apple pie spice, and salt.
  3. Add apple cider, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While warm, brush the top with ¼ cup apple cider.
  7. Mix sugar and apple pie spice, then sprinkle over the bread.
  8. Let cool before slicing.
