  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron.
  2. In a bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sour cream, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Fold in diced apples, brown sugar, and lemon juice.
  6. Cook batter in the waffle iron until golden brown.
  7. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and optional cinnamon.
  8. Drizzle glaze over warm donuts and serve.
