A sweet and rich apple gooey butter cake that combines a cake mix with a creamy apple filling.

- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups apples, diced (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith recommended)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until well blended.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, remaining eggs, powdered sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Pour the apple mixture over the cake base.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is set and slightly golden.
- Let it cool before serving.

- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
