Description

Baked Apple Fritters are a delicious treat made with fresh apples and a sweet glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples and brown sugar.
  6. Scoop the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. While fritters are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the fritters once they are cool.
