Description

A delicious twist on classic banana bread, these brownies are rich and moist.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 large bananas)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Add walnuts or pecans if desired.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. While baking, prepare the glaze by melting butter and mixing with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  10. Once brownies are done, let them cool and drizzle with the glaze.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar.
