Description

Delicious blackened shrimp tacos served with a fresh slaw.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 cups of shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup of shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add shrimp to the bowl and coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are blackened and cooked through.
  4. In another bowl, mix cabbage, carrots, cilantro, mayonnaise, lime juice, salt, and pepper to make the slaw.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet for a few seconds on each side.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing shrimp on the tortillas and topping with slaw.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your tacos.
