Description

Quick, chewy, and decadently sweet, these Cake Mix Toffee Bars are made with yellow cake mix, toffee bits, and a drizzle of sweetened condensed milk. Perfect for busy days or last-minute dessert needs!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz yellow cake mix)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup toffee bits (such as Heath bits or chopped toffee)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Press dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle toffee bits evenly over the dough.
  5. If using, sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  6. Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the entire surface.
  7. Bake for 25–28 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Let the bars cool fully before cutting for clean slices.

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.

  • You can substitute butterscotch or peanut butter chips for chocolate chips if desired.

  • For a saltier bite, sprinkle sea salt on top before baking.
