Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (e.g., rotisserie)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (preferably sharp)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add broccoli florets and Italian seasoning, cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in orzo and chicken broth, bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes until orzo is tender.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Add shredded chicken and cheddar cheese, mix until cheese melts.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

  • Use leftover chicken or rotisserie chicken for ease.
  • Adjust the amount of cheese based on preference.
  • Add more vegetables if desired.
