Description

  • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar (50g)
  • 1 Egg (Large)
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 4 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1½ cups All Purpose Flour (180g)
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (about 6 ounces)
  • ½ cup Maraschino Cherries (chopped and drained)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream the cold butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  3. Beat in the egg and almond extract until smooth.
  4. Add the salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  5. Gradually fold in the flour until fully combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and drained maraschino cherries.
  7. Scoop dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
