- 1 teaspoon Almond Extract

- ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
- 4 teaspoon Cornstarch
- 1½ cups All Purpose Flour (180g)
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (about 6 ounces)
- ½ cup Maraschino Cherries (chopped and drained)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream the cold butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Beat in the egg and almond extract until smooth.
- Add the salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cornstarch. Mix well.
- Gradually fold in the flour until fully combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and drained maraschino cherries.
- Scoop dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
