Description
A flavorful Chicken Shawarma served with creamy garlic sauce.
Ingredients

- 1.5 lbs of boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken strips to the marinade. Coat well and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- While chicken marinates, prepare the garlic sauce by mixing mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in another bowl.
- Cook the marinated chicken in a skillet over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Serve the chicken in pita bread or on a plate with garlic sauce on the side.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, use marinated mushrooms or tofu.
- For a creamier texture, use Greek yogurt instead of olive oil.
- For a lighter version, swap mayonnaise for Greek yogurt or silken tofu.
