Description

A flavorful Chicken Shawarma served with creamy garlic sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs of boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add chicken strips to the marinade. Coat well and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. While chicken marinates, prepare the garlic sauce by mixing mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken in a skillet over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  5. Serve the chicken in pita bread or on a plate with garlic sauce on the side.

  • For a creamier texture, use Greek yogurt instead of olive oil.
