Description

A rich and indulgent chocolate caramel dump cake with a gooey center.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (approx. 15.25 oz)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Chocolate shavings (optional)
  • Chopped nuts or toffee bits (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, eggs, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and sour cream.
  3. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Pour half of the batter into a greased baking dish.
  5. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter.
  6. Top with remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. While the cake is baking, heat heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering.
  9. Remove from heat and add chocolate chunks, stirring until melted and smooth.
  10. Once the cake is done, pour ganache over the top.
  11. Add optional toppings if desired.

  • Let the cake cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve warm for a gooey texture.
