Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add melted butter to the milk mixture and stir.
  5. Combine both mixtures until smooth.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans.
  7. Spread the mixture in a greased baking dish.
  8. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar with boiling water.
  9. Pour the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  11. Allow to cool before serving.
