Peach Filling:
- 6 cups fresh peaches (peeled and sliced)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, toss peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Let sit 10–15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour batter into prepared dish. Spoon peach mixture over batter—do not stir.
- Bake 45–55 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool 15–20 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
