  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni (about 1 cup dry)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus more for topping if desired)

Optional Topping:

  • Crushed crackers or crispy onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8x8 or 9x9-inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, broth, mustard, and chili powder; simmer 5–8 mins.
  4. Mix in cooked macaroni until well coated.
  5. Transfer to baking dish, top with cheese and optional toppings.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20–25 mins until bubbly.
  7. Rest 5 mins before serving.
