Ingredients

- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season chicken with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Add chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes; sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Add cooked chicken back to the skillet.
- Add cooked pasta, broccoli florets, and reserved pasta water. Toss to combine.
- Stir in parsley and chives, adjusting seasoning with salt and black pepper as needed.
- Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Notes
- Adjust spice level by varying crushed red pepper flakes.
- Use fresh herbs for the best flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
