These golden, savory Amish Onion Fritters are made with sweet onions and pantry staples, fried to crispy perfection—an easy, crowd-pleasing snack or side!
Ingredients

			- 2 large sweet onions (finely chopped)
 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1 tablespoon sugar
 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
 - 1 teaspoon salt
 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
 - 3/4 cup milk
 - Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
 
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
 - Stir in onions and milk until a thick batter forms.
 - Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat (about 350°F).
 - Drop heaping tablespoons of batter into the oil and slightly flatten.
 - Fry 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp.
 - Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

To reheat, use an oven or air fryer to restore crispness.
