Description

Crispy Mini Blooming Onions are a delicious appetizer that features small onions coated in a flavorful breading and fried until golden.


Ingredients

  • 4 small onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the onions and peel them.
  3. Soak the onions in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Dip the soaked onions in the flour mixture, then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
  6. Place the onions on a baking sheet and spray with cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
