Description

Crispy Parmesan Chicken with a Rich Garlic Sauce is a delicious dish featuring tender chicken breasts coated in a crunchy Parmesan breadcrumb crust, served with a creamy garlic sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated recommended)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs for gluten-free version)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour for gluten-free version)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of Parmesan cheese and panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with the Parmesan-panko mixture.
  5. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  6. Add the coated chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  8. While the chicken bakes, prepare the garlic sauce. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  9. Add chicken broth, heavy cream, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
  10. Serve the chicken drizzled with garlic sauce and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour.
  • Make sure the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
