Ingredients

- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F or 45°C)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine bread flour, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth.
- Let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking sheet and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and crusty.
Notes
- For a crustier bread, place a pan of water in the oven while baking.
- Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.
