Description

Easy Turtle Bars are a delicious dessert combining a buttery crust, caramel pecan layer, and chocolate topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 and ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • ⅔ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Extra chopped pecans (optional)
  • Sea salt flakes (optional)
  • Drizzled caramel sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, brown sugar, and cold butter for the crust until crumbly.
  3. Press crust mixture into a greased 9x9-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake crust for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Melt butter and brown sugar for the caramel layer, then stir in pecans.
  6. Pour caramel pecan mixture over the baked crust.
  7. Bake for another 15 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel layer.
  9. Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.
  10. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
