Description

Delicious French Onion Sausage Rolls that combine the rich flavor of French onion soup with savory pork in flaky pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) pork mince (ground pork)
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix (or 1 cup sautéed onions + 1 tsp onion powder)
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed if frozen
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Optional: Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella)
  • Optional: Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley)
  • Optional: Chili flakes for spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine pork mince, French onion soup mix, tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and black pepper.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface.
  4. Cut each pastry sheet into rectangles.
  5. Spoon filling onto one side of each rectangle.
  6. Add optional cheese and herbs if desired.
  7. Fold the pastry over to seal the filling inside.
  8. Beat the egg with milk and brush over the top of the rolls.
  9. Place rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Chill the pastry for easier handling.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce if desired.
