A hearty dish combining tender steak with cheesy potatoes, flavored with garlic butter.
Ingredients

- Ribeye or sirloin steaks (choose tender cuts)
- 4 large Russet potatoes (peeled and thinly sliced, about 1/8 inch thick)
- 2 cups Cheddar cheese (shredded, sharp or extra-sharp)
- 6 tablespoons Butter (real butter)
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Dried thyme (plus extra for seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon Dried rosemary (plus extra for seasoning)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season steaks with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, then set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Layer potato slices in a baking dish, drizzle with garlic butter, and season with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
- Top potatoes with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Slice steaks and arrange over the potatoes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- Let steaks rest before slicing to retain juices.
- Substitute Gruyère or mozzarella for cheddar if preferred.
