Description

A rich and easy German chocolate dump cake with layers of coconut, pecans, and chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped toasted pecans, divided
  • 1 package devil's food cake mix (regular size)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread coconut and 1 cup pecans in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over the coconut and pecans.
  4. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Gradually add confectioners' sugar and mix well.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture over the cake mix.
  7. Top with chocolate chips and remaining pecans.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until set.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
