- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp baking soda

- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Extra granulated sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in molasses and egg.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then coat in sugar.
- Place on baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool on wire racks.
