Description

These chewy, colorful licorice ropes are made with Kool-Aid for fruity flavor and vibrant color. A nostalgic, fun-to-make treat for kids and adults alike.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 packet (0.13 oz Kool-Aid powder (any flavor))
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Gel food coloring (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil (for greasing surface and hands)

Instructions

  1. Line baking sheet with parchment and grease with cooking spray.
  2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Boil without stirring until it reaches 250°F (hard ball stage).
  4. Remove from heat, stir in Kool-Aid and optional food coloring.
  5. Pour onto greased parchment and cool for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Stretch and twist into ropes with greased hands.
  7. Roll in powdered sugar and cool completely.
  8. Cut and store in airtight container for up to 1 week.
