Description

Crispy on the outside and melty inside, these Mozzarella Fried Cheese Bites are the ultimate party snack or appetizer. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks (cut into 1-inch bite-size pieces)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying (about 2–3 cups))
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Warm marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • Fresh basil or parsley (for garnish (optional))

Instructions

  1. Freeze mozzarella pieces on a tray for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Set up dredging bowls: flour + seasonings, eggs, breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat cheese bites in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Double coat for extra crunch.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry bites in small batches for 1–2 minutes until golden.
  5. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with marinara and garnish as desired.

Notes

  • Try with pepper jack or smoked cheese for a twist.

  • Double coat for the best crispy texture.

  • Air fryer and baking methods work great too.

  • Freeze coated bites for up to 2 months and fry straight from frozen.
