Description

A classic dessert featuring baked apples topped with a crunchy oat mixture.


Ingredients

  • 4 apples, thinly sliced (around 6 cups)
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar (for apples)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for apples)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced apples, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  3. Spread the apple mixture in a baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  5. Add cold butter pieces and mix until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden and apples are soft.

Notes

  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
