Cobbler Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup milk
- Optional: 1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
For Serving:
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix cherries with sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, and optional zest/extract. Pour into greased 8x8-inch dish.
- Combine topping ingredients into a thick batter.
- Drop batter over cherry mixture in dollops.
- Optional: sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
- Cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream.
