  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg

For Serving:

  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix cherries with sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, and optional zest/extract. Pour into greased 8x8-inch dish.
  3. Combine topping ingredients into a thick batter.
  4. Drop batter over cherry mixture in dollops.
