- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 6 slices frozen garlic Texas toast
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to cook the garlic toast according to package instructions.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Add ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture.
- Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Toast the garlic bread in the oven until golden brown.
- Top each slice of garlic toast with the beef mixture.
- If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Return to the oven until cheese is melted.
