Description

A delicious grilled cheese sandwich with pears, apples, and caramelized onions.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium pear, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt.
  3. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  4. In another skillet, layer one slice of bread, cheese, pear, apple, and caramelized onions.
  5. Top with another slice of bread.
  6. Grill until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat and slice in half.
