- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, with juice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, crushed pineapple with juice, and melted butter until well combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Once the cake is cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture over the top.
- Top with whipped topping, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
