Description

A delicious twist on grilled cheese sandwiches with pizza flavors.


Ingredients

  • Garlic Butter:
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
    • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Sandwich Assembly:
    • 8 thick slices sturdy bread such as sourdough or Italian
    • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
    • 24 thin slices pepperoni

Instructions

  1. Mix softened butter, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt to make garlic butter.
  2. Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
  3. On the unbuttered side of four bread slices, layer mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, and pepperoni.
  4. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side out.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook sandwiches until golden brown and cheese melts, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh mozzarella for better melt.
  • Adjust pepperoni quantity based on preference.
  • Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
