Description

Delicious red velvet thumbprint cookies filled with cream cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring to the butter mixture.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Make an indentation in the center of each ball.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let them cool completely.
  10. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Fill the indentations with the cream cheese mixture.
