Ingredients

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Additional chopped pecans for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in toasted pecans.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. For the glaze, melt butter in a saucepan. Add brown sugar, cream, vanilla, and salt. Cook until smooth.
  7. Dip cooled donuts in the glaze. Sprinkle with extra pecans if desired.
