- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup smoked cheese, cubed (such as gouda)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Take small portions of the meat mixture and flatten them in your palm.
- Place a cube of smoked cheese in the center and shape the meat around it to form a ball.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Brown the meatballs on all sides, then transfer to a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until fully cooked.
- Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use cold meat for easier handling.
- You can substitute gouda with cheddar or mozzarella.
- For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2 minutes.
