- 1/3 cup sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (or use a combination of 1/2 cup cake flour and 3 1/2 cups bread flour)
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast (or instant yeast)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- Egg wash (1 beaten egg with 1 teaspoon water)
- Simple syrup (1 tablespoon sugar dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water)
Instructions
- Mix heavy cream, milk, egg, and sugar in a bowl.
- Combine flour, yeast, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Slowly add wet ingredients to dry ingredients while mixing.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into desired forms.
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
- Brush with simple syrup while warm.
