Soft sugar cookies with a cream cheese glaze and festive holiday sprinkles, perfect for Christmas celebrations.

- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp milk (or heavy cream for extra soft cookies)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Christmas sprinkles (red, green, white, gold, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and milk, mixing well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Scoop dough into balls and place on baking sheets. Flatten slightly.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
- For the glaze, beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread glaze over cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For softer cookies, use heavy cream instead of milk.
- Let cookies cool completely before glazing to prevent melting.
