Description

Soft sugar cookies with a cream cheese glaze and festive holiday sprinkles, perfect for Christmas celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp milk (or heavy cream for extra soft cookies)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Christmas sprinkles (red, green, white, gold, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and milk, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Scoop dough into balls and place on baking sheets. Flatten slightly.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
  7. For the glaze, beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Spread glaze over cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles.

Notes

  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • For softer cookies, use heavy cream instead of milk.
  • Let cookies cool completely before glazing to prevent melting.
