A classic Southern sweet potato casserole with a crunchy pecan topping.
Ingredients

- 3 cups sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/3 cup milk
Topping:
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then mash.
- Mix in sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk.
- Spread mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- You can use canned sweet potatoes for convenience.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
