Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam (warmed)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Transfer to piping bag; chill slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients. In another, whisk milk, butter, vanilla, and egg.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients; mix until sticky dough forms.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F in a deep fryer or pot.
  5. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls into oil; fry 2–3 mins per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Use a skewer to poke holes in each donut. Pipe in cream cheese filling.
  7. Drizzle warm strawberry jam over tops or dip. Serve warm.
