- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 ounces cream cheese, cubed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with ½ cup of sugar. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
- Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Distribute the strawberry mixture evenly over the batter.
- Dot the top with cream cheese cubes.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.

- Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
