Description

This Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie combines rich chocolate and crunchy pecans in a sweet filling.


Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought pie crust (or homemade)
  • 1 egg white lightly beaten (for brushing)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (semi-sweet or bittersweet)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves (toasted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust in a pie dish and brush the bottom with beaten egg white.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Stir in the melted chocolate until well combined.
  6. Fold in the toasted pecans.
  7. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until set.
  9. Let the pie cool before serving.
