Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup caramel sauce plus extra for drizzling
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a jelly roll pan and line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add vanilla extract to the egg mixture.
  6. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until combined.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool for a few minutes, then invert it onto a clean kitchen towel.
  10. Roll the cake with the towel and let it cool completely.
  11. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  12. Carefully unroll the cooled cake and spread with caramel sauce and whipped cream.
  13. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the filling.
  14. Roll the cake back up, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  15. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce before serving.
