- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup caramel sauce plus extra for drizzling
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a jelly roll pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract to the egg mixture.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes, then invert it onto a clean kitchen towel.
- Roll the cake with the towel and let it cool completely.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Carefully unroll the cooled cake and spread with caramel sauce and whipped cream.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the filling.
- Roll the cake back up, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Drizzle with extra caramel sauce before serving.
