- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 2 cups milk, warmed
- 1 1/4 cups (150g) confectioners’ sugar, sifted
- 4 eggs, yolks and whites separated
- 1 tablespoon purified water
- 1 cup (115g) all-purpose flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- Confectioners’ sugar for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease an 8-inch baking dish.
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale.
- Add melted butter, water, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour while stirring continuously.
- Slowly pour in warm milk, mixing until smooth.
- Gently fold in beaten egg whites.
- Pour batter into the prepared dish and bake for 45-50 minutes.
- Let cool before dusting with confectioners’ sugar.
