- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons milk (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Stir in applesauce.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
- To make the frosting, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, mixing until creamy.
- If needed, add milk to achieve desired consistency.
- Frost the cooled cake and serve.
Notes
- Store the cake in the refrigerator if not consumed within a few days.
- Feel free to add nuts or raisins for added texture.
