Ingredients

  • Cheesecake:
    • 16 oz. full-fat cream cheese, softened
    • 1/4 cup sour cream
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
    • 2 eggs + 1 egg white
  • Banana Bread:
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 6 Tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 large or 3 small bananas, mashed (about 1 1/4 cups)
    • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips
  • Cream Cheese Frosting:
    • 3 oz. full-fat cream cheese, softened
    • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
    • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1-2 Tablespoons sour cream
    • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Make the cheesecake layer: Beat cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla, and flour until smooth. Add eggs and egg white one at a time, mixing well after each.
  3. Make the banana bread layer: Whisk oil, sugars, egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Stir in mashed bananas. Fold in flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and chocolate chips.
  4. Spread banana bread batter into the pan. Pour cheesecake batter evenly on top.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the center is set. Cool completely.
  6. Make frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and sour cream. Spread over cooled cake.
  7. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top. Chill before serving.
