  • Gel food coloring in orange, purple, and black

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  6. Divide dough into three portions and tint each with orange, purple, and black food coloring.
  7. Roll each colored dough into a thin sheet and stack them.
  8. Roll the stack into a log, then slice into pinwheel shapes.
