Peach Filling:
- 6 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup melted butter
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, toss peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Let sit 10–15 minutes.
In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Pour batter into prepared dish. Spoon peach mixture over batter—do not stir.
Bake 45–55 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
Cool 15–20 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
