Ingredients
  

Peach Filling:

  • 6 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, toss peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Let sit 10–15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Pour batter into prepared dish. Spoon peach mixture over batter—do not stir.
  • Bake 45–55 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Cool 15–20 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Substitute canned or frozen peaches if fresh aren't available.
  • Add cornstarch if using extra juicy peaches.
  • Sprinkle coarse sugar or sliced almonds on top before baking for texture.
  • Can be made dairy-free with plant-based butter and milk.
