Ingredients
  

For the Casserole:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni about 1 cup dry
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon mustard yellow or Dijon
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese plus more for topping if desired

Optional Topping:

  • Crushed crackers or crispy onions

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8x8 or 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, broth, mustard, and chili powder; simmer 5–8 mins.
  • Mix in cooked macaroni until well coated.
  • Transfer to baking dish, top with cheese and optional toppings.
  • Bake uncovered for 20–25 mins until bubbly.
  • Rest 5 mins before serving.
