Homemade Kool-Aid Licorice Ropes

These chewy, colorful licorice ropes are made with Kool-Aid for fruity flavor and vibrant color. A nostalgic, fun-to-make treat for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 packet 0.13 oz Kool-Aid powder (any flavor)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar for dusting
  • Gel food coloring optional
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing surface and hands

Instructions
 

  • Line baking sheet with parchment and grease with cooking spray.
  • Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in saucepan over medium heat.
  • Boil without stirring until it reaches 250°F (hard ball stage).
  • Remove from heat, stir in Kool-Aid and optional food coloring.
  • Pour onto greased parchment and cool for 3–5 minutes.
  • Stretch and twist into ropes with greased hands.
  • Roll in powdered sugar and cool completely.
  • Cut and store in airtight container for up to 1 week.
