Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 6 burger buns halved
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Optional: sliced pepperoni olives, diced bell peppers, or onions

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  • Stir in pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  • Place bun halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Toast lightly under the broiler (optional).
  • Spoon meat mixture evenly onto each bun.
  • Top with shredded cheese and any optional toppings.
  • Bake for 5–7 minutes, or broil for 2–3 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use mozzarella or a pizza cheese blend for a more traditional flavor.
  • Toast buns before assembling to prevent sogginess.
  • These freeze well—wrap individually for future meals.
  • Great for lunchboxes, parties, or casual dinners.
